First Analysis

Factual John Hedgecoe, Mary Quant at home in Chelsea (1964)

Context. The face of the artist exibition. 21st Jun 2011 - 11th Dec 2011

Technical. This photo looks like it was taken with a 35mm film camera with one light source (there is only one shadow seen under her leg) It has a strong composition, the table and sofa lead the eye to Mary, and her pose is echoed by the background image.

Aesthetic. I like the fact that in this photo every thing has purposely been placed in a certain way. For instance, Mary's leg. It's near enough level with the edge of the sofas. And the table has been placed in a certain way, this leads the audiance to look at Mary, and she is the main point shown in this image.

John Hedgecoe was an award-winning British photographer and the best-selling author of over 30 books on photography. His photographs appear in permanent collections at the New York Museum of modern art, and London's National portrait gallery.

First Analysis

The Birthday Party by Vee Spears

This image fits in with all her other picture because it is one of the photo's from The Birthday Party collection. The colours in thhis picture are different shades of pink, her hair is very big. And she's blowing up a bubble with her hands. This creates alot of the affect with in the image. When we look at this photo, our eyes are drawn to the bubble which she is blowing up.
